• Because software operates 24/7, engineers may have on-call responsibilities, requiring them to handle bugs in the middle of the night or on weekends, causing disruption to personal life possibly causing depression or stress.
• The role can be isolating, with hours spent coding alone not being able to spend time with close ones or family members, which can be challenging for some engineers or even some regular people that are not used to the lonely environment causing boredom, depression and mental burnouts.
